From January 2 to 4, the 2024 Annual Senior Management Work Conference of BGT Group was grandly held in Zhengzhou, Henan Province. Quan Qiuhong, Chairwoman of BGT Group, Zhang Jianfei, General Manager, Quan Siying, Secretary of the Board of Directors, 15 general managers of Business Division, and 64 representatives including heads of various subsidiaries and departments of the group attended the conference.

Presided over by General Manager Zhang Jianfei, this senior management work conference reviewed and summarized the overall operating situation in 2024, and planned the strategic development direction and implementation measures for the next five years.

Field of Wastewater Resource Utilization

In 2024, BGT achieved a series of successes in bidding for large-scale projects. It successfully won projects including the Kashgar Northern Urban Water Supply Capacity Enhancement Project and Sewage Treatment Plant Construction Project, the Anhui (Huaibei) New Coal Chemical Synthetic Materials Base Sewage Treatment and Zero Discharge Integrated Investment and Operation Project, and the Chemical Water Treatment Station Complete Equipment Procurement and Installation Project of Fine Chemicals and Raw Materials Engineering Project of North Huajin United Petrochemical Co., Ltd., with the cumulative value of newly signed contracts exceeding RMB 2 billion.

BGT also made significant progress in several key projects in Inner Mongolia and Shanxi: The Wuhai Wuda District "Municipal Sewage + Industrial Park Sewage Linkage Treatment" project is operating smoothly, saving approximately 7.3 million tons of industrial water annually; the large-scale standardized equipment production base in Wuhai, which was successfully completed in 2023, has now been fully put into operation; the environmental protection new materials project (Phase I) has successfully met the predetermined operational standards and been put into production; the high-end insoluble electrode and pressure vessel manufacturing base project is in the planning stage; the China Coal Yuanxing Large-scale Mine Water + Coal Chemical High-salinity Water Zero Discharge Salt Separation EPC project continues to consolidate its leading position in the industry; the Qingxu Hongbo Large-scale Coking Park Wastewater Zero Discharge Salt Separation project has entered a new stage of development, achieving zero discharge through salt separation technology; the Reclaimed Water + Zero Discharge of Shanxi Transformation and Comprehensive Reform Demonstration Area Synthetic Bio-Eco Park project is steadily advancing in the construction phase.

On the basis of remarkable achievements in the domestic market, BGT actively seeks to expand into overseas markets. The ExxonMobil Huizhou Ethylene Industrial Water Treatment Project, after careful commissioning by all project team members, has successfully started operation; the industrial water treatment project in the BASF Guangzhou Integrated Project has also completed commissioning smoothly and is about to enter a stable operation period; the 100,000 tons/day seawater desalination project in Penglai, a cooperation between BGT and Suez, has made significant progress, providing strong support for the effective utilization of seawater resources and the alleviation of shortage of freshwater resources.

The "BGT Smart Operation & Maintenance Service Platform" successfully realized the digital twin of the overall process of Hongbo's operation in the first half of 2024, and extended the digital twin to the Wuhai Park and urban area in the second half of the year. During this process, it solved data integration issues and promoted the launch of the intelligent decision-making system. In December, BGT once again broke through technical barriers and obtained a highly valuable invention patent: A Water Treatment Optimization Method and System Based on Machine Learning. In the future, we will continue to expand the application scope of digital twins, promote the extensive application of digital technologies, and ensure the continuous optimization and upgrading of the system. The Digital Information Department will also deepen the construction of the smart operation & maintenance platform, use AI and big data analysis to improve the level of intelligence, continuously strengthen AI technology R&D and application, promote the implementation of AI patents, enhance predictive maintenance and intelligent decision-making capabilities through in-depth application of AI, achieve efficient resource scheduling and operation & maintenance management, and ultimately meet the Company's digital transformation needs.

Field of Lithium Extraction from Salt Lakes

In 2021, BGT successfully won all five core equipment sections of the 10,000-ton lithium extraction project for Xizang Zabuye Salt Lake, officially entering the field of lithium extraction form salt lakes. By the end of 2024, the mechanical construction of all five core process sections including the nanofiltration device undertaken by BGT has been fully completed and all have entered the single-machine test run stage; the Xizang Salt Lake Green Comprehensive Development, Utilization and Environmental Protection Joint Laboratory has integrated advantageous resources from various parties and continues to be committed to research on Xizang's salt lake resources and environment; the Xizang Salt Lake Comprehensive Utilization R&D Base, invested and built by BGT and Xizang Shigatse Zabuye Lithium Industry High-Tech Co., Ltd., achieved stable output of lithium carbonate in just six months; the Xizang Salt Lake Comprehensive Development R&D Base has made breakthrough progress in the field of electro-adsorption lithium extraction technology, significantly improving extraction efficiency and reducing extraction costs while adapting to the plateau extraction environment. Looking forward to the future, BGT will make full use of its technical and experience advantages, continuously optimize technical routes, expand related businesses, and strive to realize the comprehensive utilization of products such as lithium, fresh water, acids, alkalis, rubidium, and cesium.

Field of Mineral Resources

At the Symposium on Promoting the Development of the Western Region in the New Era, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized that we must consistently implement all policies and measures of the Party Central Committee on the development of the western region, and strive to build a new pattern of great protection, great opening up, and high-quality development. At the beginning of 2024, BGT joined hands with the Administrative Office of Hotan Prefecture and jointly signed a strategic cooperation agreement on industrial investment and development of lithium-containing salt lakes/brines (including underground brines in blank areas), mines and downstream cathode materials in Hotan Prefecture, marking the full launch of BGT's layout for the second growth curve. This year, BGT successfully won the exploration rights for multiple copper mines in Yutian County and Pishan County of Hotan Prefecture, with a total area of 146.78 square kilometers. Exploration work is being actively carried out, and detailed exploration results are expected to be obtained by the middle of 2025.

Group Honors

In August, BGT showcased its groundbreaking research on "Zero Discharge of Mine Water and By-product Sodium Carbonate Production" at the Coal Mining and Coal Chemical Environmental Protection Industry Conference, earning widespread industry acclaim for its unique insights and remarkable results. In September, BGT's outstanding practice in "Resource Utilization of Mine Water + Coal Chemical High-Salinity Wastewater" was proudly selected for inclusion in the Top 100 Low-Carbon Brands cases. Additionally, BGT received the certificate of Catalog of Major Environmental Protection Technologies and Equipment Encouraged by the State for Development as a supporting unit, and maintained its position for three consecutive years as the "Annual Industry Leader in Industrial and Park Water Treatment – High-Salinity Wastewater Resource Utilization".

In December, BGT's Chairwoman Quan Qiuhong was invited to attend the 2024 Securities Times·New Fortune Magazine Analyst Annual Awards Ceremony, joining nearly 2,000 distinguished guests to witness the crowning of 2024's top analysts. On the technological front, BGT and General Manager Zhang Jianfei were honored with the First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation for the project "Key Technology and Applications of Energy-saving, Low-carbon Treatment of Wastewater Regeneration Membrane Concentrate". This project effectively addresses challenges in wastewater regeneration, achieving energy-saving and low-carbon goals while providing robust technical support for wastewater resource utilization and environmental protection. Meanwhile, General Manager Zhang Jianfei was appointed as Deputy Director of the Desalination Branch of the China Industrial Energy Conservation and Cleaner Production Association, a testament to both his personal capabilities and BGT's profound influence and exceptional contributions in the environmental protection field.

Over the past 20 years, BGT has steadfastly and diligently achieved numerous milestones. Looking ahead, BGT remains committed to creating even more remarkable accomplishments through hard work.
