Recently, the zero-discharge unit of Phase I of the Clean and Efficient Gasification Gas Comprehensive Utilization (Relocation and Reconstruction) Project of Jingyuan Coal Industry and Electricity Power, undertaken by BGT for Liuhua Chemical Co., Ltd. of Jingyuan Coal Industry Group, has successfully produced high-quality sodium chloride crystalline salt. The product water has been fully recycled and achieved zero discharge!
The Clean and Efficient Gasification Gas Comprehensive Utilization (Relocation and Reconstruction) Project of Jingyuan Coal Industry and Electricity Power is a key project of Gansu Province and Baiyin City, with a total investment of RMB 5.425 billion. It is implemented in two phases in accordance with the principles of "acting according to the capability, phased implementation, and moderate advancement". The project uses Jingyuan coal as the main raw material coal and fuel coal, and adopts advanced, mature and energy-saving technologies such as pulverized coal pressure gasification, isothermal shift conversion, and Claus sulfur recovery to produce synthetic ammonia, methanol, urea, melamine, urea ammonium nitrate solution and other products. At the same time, it provides high-quality raw materials such as hydrogen and carbon monoxide for other chemical enterprises in the Yindong Industrial Park, promoting the development of circular economy in the park. The designed production scale is 2×300,000 tons of synthetic ammonia, 2×350,000 tons of urea, 100,000 tons of methanol, 216 million m3 (H2+CO), 60,000 tons of melamine, 50,000 tons of urea ammonium nitrate solution, 50,000 tons of liquid CO2, and 2,500 tons of catalysts per year.
The zero-discharge unit is designed to handle 120 m3/h of concentrated brine for pretreatment, with the concentrated brine discharged into the crystallization unit ≤ 18 m3/h. According to the water quality characteristics of the project, deep treatment is carried out on pollutants such as heavy metals and chemical oxygen demand (COD) in industrial wastewater, and salts such as sodium chloride and sodium sulfate are recovered for industrial production and other purposes. While generating economic benefits, it realizes 100% resource utilization of the entire plant's water system. The designed output of sodium chloride is about 0.6 t/h, which meets the quality requirements of industrial dry salt Grade I in Coal Chemical Industry—By-product Industrial Sodium Chloride (T/CCT002-2019).
As the core environmental protection component of the Clean and Efficient Gasification Gas Comprehensive Utilization (Relocation and Reconstruction) Project of Jingyuan Coal Industry and Electricity Power, the zero discharge project is a specific practice of Liuhua Chemical Co., Ltd. of Jingyuan Coal Industry Group in actively responding to the strategy of ecological protection and high-quality development of the Yellow River Basin. As a comprehensive listed group integrating wastewater resource utilization, comprehensive development of salt lake resources and mineral development, BGT, relying on its outstanding achievements and profound accumulation in the field of zero discharge, has facilitated this project to become the first milestone project in Gansu Province to realize wastewater zero discharge.
The zero-discharge system provided by BGT in this project, with its highly stability and reliability, integrates the dual advantages of energy conservation and environmental protection, demonstrating top-tier treatment capabilities in the industry, ensuring that the effluent quality and crystalline salt quality meet the current industry standards, and setting a new technical benchmark. We have not only practiced the most cutting-edge environmental protection concepts, but also achieved a win-win situation of economic and environmental benefits through technological innovation, laying an unshakable foundation for the successful completion of the project. This achievement is not only a strong proof of BGT's profound heritage in the field of zero-discharge technology, but also our unremitting commitment to sustainable development in the future.
