The Kashgar Northern Urban Water Supply Capacity Enhancement Project and Sewage Treatment Plant Construction Project attracted a total investment of RMB 1.326 billion. With a service scope covering the Central & South Asia industrial parks, Kashgar Economic Development Zone, and International Land Port Area, this 22-month construction project is scheduled for commissioning by the end of 2026.

The project covers two major engineering works including water supply and sewage treatment. The water supply project incorporates the establishment of a new water plant with daily capacity of 79,100 m3 and annual maximum supply of 24.4793 million m3, supported by a 1.65 million m3 sedimentation basin and 69-km distribution pipeline network; and the sewage treatment project incorporates the establishment of a 50,000 m3/day sewage treatment plant where over 40% effluent will undergo combined process purification through "high-efficiency sedimentation + denitrifying deep-bed filtration + sodium hypochlorite disinfection" for industrial reuse and municipal irrigation, establishing closed-loop water recycling.

As Kashgar's annual key livelihood project, the Kashgar Northern Urban Water Supply Capacity Enhancement Project and Sewage Treatment Plant Construction Project will comprehensively upgrade water security for the Economic Development Zone and Central & South Asia industrial parks, injecting strong impetus into regional economic development and ecological protection. BGT will empower long-term operation with smart water management. Through water rights trading, dynamic pricing, and achieving a win-win situation for the government and enterprises, it aims to inject new impetus into the sustainable utilization of water resources and industrial upgrading in Kashgar, and compose a "water-infused chapter" of high-quality development for border cities in the new era!
